January 26, 2015

The Ward Mission leader here showed us a really cool Mormon message last week in correlation that I wanted to share with you guys:

I really like what one of the guys said: "(Faith is) coming to Believe that what God has for me is bigger and better then what I have going on right now."

It reminded me of a passage in Proverbs:

"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."
The Lord knows better then us, and even though its kind of scary sometimes we need to trust him.  Some of the ways we can do that is by following His commandments, reading and applying the scriptures to our lives, striving to listen and follow the promptings of the Holy Ghost.

Anyway, as for how things are going in Belgium, it's been going well!  Got a new bike so we've been able to travel more which is great!  I was using an old one a Zuster left, but it was total kapoot as of a couple weeks ago.

Goede Dag!

So, we got transfer calls last night..... And I am...

Going to be in the same area for at least another 6 weeks! :)

Whew!  And so is Zuster Mashburn!  We are super happy, we've been loving it here and we didn't want to leave quite yet!

This week we went to Brussels and did some paperwork to get our official Belgium IDs.  Super exciting.  Everything was in either French or Dutch, it was weird because I can now understand Dutch so much better than French!  We have a couple investigators who speak French, and I've tried to talk to them in French but the only words I can think of are Dutch!  I can hardly remember any French!  Buuut, I know a lot more Dutch than I used to, so that's exciting. :)

Also had "real Belgium friets (French fries)" for the first time!  Surprise, French Fries aren't American, they are actually from Belgium!  There are friet stands EVERYWHERE and it's been on my list of things to get.  They were pretty good. I still prefer the waffels though. ;)

Happy New Year's

Happy New Year!

Ah, I am SO excited for 2015!  I'm going to be a missionary for all of 2015!!  I can already tell that it's going to be an amazing year! :)

We have seen so many blessings this week!  My testimony in prayer has defintely been stregthened.  God is our Heavenly Father, and he really does want to hear what we have to say.  He also wants to help us, but first we have to ask and come to Him through prayer!  It really is a beautiful and wonderful thing in my opinion.

Anyways, I gotta run!  Best wishes for the New Year!
